GFC Receives 2024 Taiwan Sustainable Action Award SDG04 Silver Award

GFC has long been committed to green energy issues such as energy conservation and carbon reduction, and has been dedicated to promoting social services. Through providing free inspections and replacing LED energy-saving lights for non-profit welfare organizations, the "Hand in Hand for Love: Lighting Up Happy Lights" initiative has now entered its fifth year. GFC is honored to have received the SDG04 Silver Award at the "2024 Taiwan Sustainable Action Award" organized by TAISE, highlighting GFC’s ongoing commitment to caring for vulnerable groups in society and creating shared value for a sustainable society.

As of the end of 2023, GFC has provided lighting replacement services for 30 non-profit organizations at 50 locations, with 504 corporate volunteers participating. A total of 2,121 light fixtures and 4,312 light tubes were replaced. If calculated based on 12 hours of lighting per day, this is estimated to save 271,515 kWh of energy and reduce carbon emissions by 137,121 kilograms. GFC continues to actively promote a low-carbon lifestyle, advocating for energy-saving practices across 18 service points nationwide, including one-hour lunch break light-outs, energy-saving competitions, and sharing carbon reduction tips and eye-care knowledge on Facebook, demonstrating GFC's commitment to environmental protection and its proactive social welfare efforts.
