On the 90th anniversary of the formation of the Yomiuri Giants in Japanese professional baseball, the first team was sent to Taiwan to compete against Taiwanese professional teams, including the Chinatrust Brothers and Rakuten Monkeys. GFC is one of sponsors for this international event that took place at the Taipei Dome on a cold, rainy day with a temperature of 13°C, setting records for the highest attendance in Taiwanese baseball history, with 37,890 and 36,000 spectators respectively. Families in the audience experienced the game in a temperature-controlled environment, under thousands of lights that were not glaring, amidst cheers and shouts without feeling noisy, enjoying the watching baseball. The only regret was that the Dome wasn't built faster and earlier.

In the end, the Yomiuri Giants defeated the Chinatrust Brothers 4:1 and drew 0:0 with the Rakuten Monkeys.
