For 20 consecutive years supporting national diplomacy, GFC invited the Harvard Krokodiloes to perform around Taiwan

The Krokodiloes, a renowned a cappella group from Harvard University founded 78 years ago, were invited once again to Taiwan by GFC Educational Foundation post-pandemic. From June 10th to 14th, they held three campus exchange performances at schools including Sacred Heart High School, Yilan Luodong High School, and Liugui Baolai Junior High School. Before departing, they also held a 20th anniversary concert and reception at the Cloud Gate Theater in Tamsui. Long-time supporters such as the chairman of Tung Ho Steel, Hou Jieteng, and the chairman of Chang Star Corp., Zeng Shiming, along with friends and enthusiasts, attended these events, which were packed to capacity, creating a joyous atmosphere for both hosts and guests.

This year, GFC also invited 35 former members of the Krokodiloes from various parts of the United States to revisit Taiwan. During their stay, accompanied by Foundation CEO Tang Qiuling and her family, they visited Sun Moon Lake and the surrounding rural areas, allowing these American social elites to personally experience Taiwan's simple and hospitable cultural life. The new 12-member Krokodiloes showcased their superb harmonies and lively dances, performing not only their signature classic Western songs but also several well-known Taiwanese tunes such as "The Moon Represents My Heart" and "Diudiutongzai," creating an unforgettable and delightful musical feast for the audience.

Over the past 20 years of inviting the Krokodiloes to Taiwan, the GFC Foundation has organized 66 performances, visiting towns, rural schools, and even remote areas such as Dongpu in Nantou, Neipu in Pingtung, Taroko in Hualien, and Zhiben in Taitung, and they have ventured as far as Kinmen Island. This year, the Krokodiloes ventured deep into the mountains of Liugui to perform and exchange songs with Baolai Junior High School, which had won the world championship in choir singing. They were deeply impressed by the enchanting charm of the Bunun Tribe's octet harmonies.

Music, as the international language without borders, encourages Taiwanese students, through the efforts of the GFC Educational Foundation, to learn how to independently fund their travel expenses like the Krokodiloes, using their voices to travel the world, make friends, and spread Taiwan's love and joy.
