12th General Meeting of the GFC Corporate Union
Established in 1988, the GFC Industrial Union later became the GFC Industrial Union (referred to as “GFC Union”) as its membership expanded across GFC's various business units. Over the past 30 years, the union has operated independently and become a vital communication platform between labor and management. The union also supports company management in establishing strict corporate governance that ensure clear rewards and penalties for employees. Together, labor and management strive for the company’s continued growth.
Because union members are based in branches, service centers, the Yangmei plant, and engineering centers across Taiwan, general meetings are typically held in Taichung for convenience. The union arranges transportation and meals, while the company shows support by granting a one-day paid leave to attendees.
On May 23, the union held its 12th General Meeting and elections for the 13th Board of Directors and Supervisors. This year’s board reported outstanding results, including active protection of members’ rights, early implementation of promotions and pay raises, smooth labor-management collaboration, and organizing two employee cultural events with corporate sponsorship. The union also took part in various ESG-related community initiatives. Having fulfilled their duties successfully, the current board passes the torch to the next generation of passionate and capable leaders.
