GFC Industrial Union donates for Hualien earthquake relief
In light of the recent 403 earthquake, which caused extensive damage to homes, casualties, and severe destruction to the Taroko National Park in the Hualien area, the "GFC Industrial Union" has initiated a fundraising campaign. With the assistance of the GFC Cultural and Educational Foundation, the funds will be handed over to the Ministry of Health and Welfare for disaster relief efforts. The fundraising campaign received enthusiastic responses from the company's chairman, executives at all levels, and all colleagues, collectively raising approximately NTD 2 million.
Established in 1988, the "GFC Industrial Union" has long been committed to caring for the welfare of its members, advocating for employee benefits, and serving as an important channel of communication between the company and its employees.
President Hsiao Wenyi stated that this earthquake is the most severe since the 921 earthquake! Especially during working hours, elevators were all in operation, leading to numerous critical situations. Maintenance stations across the region were fully mobilized, working day and night to restore normalcy to people's lives as quickly as possible. It was indeed an extremely arduous mobilization. Particularly for employees in eastern Taiwan, besides being busy with post-earthquake repairs, they also had to deal with the emergencies caused by continuous aftershocks, making it an incredibly hectic time. Nevertheless, all colleagues remained steadfast in their positions, actively participating in disaster relief efforts, bringing warmth to the disaster-stricken areas, displaying the spirit of self-sacrifice, and praying for national peace and the well-being of the people.
